India welcomed the agreement and said that the two nations were its allies and that it had always supported peace and prosperity in West Asia. Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar had previously said that UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan had called him to discuss the agreement.  In the months leading up to the agreement, Israel had secretly collaborated with the United Arab Emirates to combat the COVID 19 pandemic. European media reported that Mossad was discreetly sourcing health supplies from the Gulf states.   Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, announced at the end of June 2020 that the two countries were cooperating in the fight against coronavirus and that the mossad leader, Yossi Cohen, had visited the VaE several times. However, a few hours later, the United Arab Emirates seemed to downplay this situation by revealing that it was simply an agreement between private companies and not at the state level.  The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the agreement and said that the history and people of the Middle East would not forgive and would not forget what the United Arab Emirates did and that it was a violation of the 2002 Arab peace initiative. She called the uae`s behavior hypocritical and added that the Palestinians opposed the agreement.  President Recep Tayyip Erdogan then said that Turkey was considering suspending or severing diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates in retaliation and recalling its ambassador from Abu Dhabi.  The visa waiver agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Israel means that citizens of both countries are allowed to enter each other`s countries without having to apply for a visa. The agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates promises to establish normal relations between the two countries. These include trade relations, tourism, direct flights, scientific cooperation and, in due course, full diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level. However, it is unlikely that the Emiratis will set up their embassy in Jerusalem.
An important element of the Abraham agreement, although not explicitly formulated, is the strengthening of security cooperation against regional threats, particularly from Iran and its deputies. It is important to note that Israel and the United Arab Emirates report that they already have security relations, but the agreement puts them in power. Palestinian homes are still being demolished and illegal settlements are being extended. That is why I will vote tomorrow against the agreement in the Knesset British Prime Minister Boris Johnson hailed the agreement as a path to peace in the Middle East and the suspension of the annexation of territories in the West Bank. British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian expressed similar sentiments, with the former adding that it was time for direct dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians, while the latter said it created an opportunity to resume talks.  France and Germany saw the agreement as the hope of a two-state solution.  German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas called Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi to congratulate him.  The contract was signed on September 15, 2020.
